This policy explains what information the App handles. The App is a local-first study tool. We designed it to collect as little as possible.
The App has no user accounts and no login. We do not ask for your name, email, address, or other personal identifiers. Aside from the optional AI Tutor feature described in Section 4, we do not operate a server that stores your personal data.
Your study progress, statistics, theme preference, and free-trial usage counts are stored only on your device using local storage. This data is not transmitted to us and is removed if you delete the App.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. When you subscribe or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user identifier and purchase/receipt information from the store in order to determine your entitlement. We do not receive your payment card details; those are handled by Google Play. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
The App includes an optional AI Tutor, available to Thinktank Pro subscribers, that lets you have a written conversation about a specific study question. Unlike the rest of the App, this feature sends data off your device. Specifically:
Please do not enter sensitive personal information, or confidential or controlled information (such as CUI or FCI from your workplace), into the tutor. It is a study aid for public CMMC and NIST material, not a secure channel. You can avoid this data sharing entirely by not using the AI Tutor.
The App may download content and code updates over the air via Expo (EAS Update). In serving an update, Expo may process limited technical data such as device platform and app version. See Expo’s Privacy Policy.
The App does not display third-party advertising and does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
The App is intended for cybersecurity professionals preparing for certification and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by deleting the App. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Google Play account. You can choose not to use the AI Tutor (Section 4) if you prefer to keep all activity on your device.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
